Question on when to move up to Mod 3
Telly finally managed to get beyond the 30 Meter mark in the dark yesterday with two good clean sends in a new location at 40m. I am inclined to linger at the module two exercises for a few more days to solidify the concept of "go to the light". We no longer have a detection function due to some of Oregon's legal measures passed recently. Would it be OK to try a down command since she was doing that at the end of the plain non laser Voraus (before the bowl exercises)? or should we attempt an article search. My concern with the article search is her being visual and just running to the article instead of the dot first. Thoughts?

Hi Colleen,
Sounds like good progress. I definitely recommend for people to stay with Module 2 for a while and go back and repeat regularly.
As far as the "end of directional send" down, that is definitely something to incorporate. Be careful to make sure your dog's drive doesn't drop as a result of how he feels about the down.
if your dog has the detection training and you can get a couple of training aides, don't care whether they are real or pseudo for this. Refresh the detection work and then do module 3.
detection is just a great way to assess and evaluate the function switching after the directional send, plus with the lower intensity task its easier to problem solve and get over humps.
Hope to catch you tonight during the webinar.
